JOSEPH EID
Bio

Singer/songwriter Joseph Eid spent July of 2011 in the studio recording 3 new songs for indie label, Cleopatra Records.  His original "Pseudo-Love" will be featured on the label's upcoming indie folk compilation album.  He finished off the summer playing 18 shows in San Francisco which were sponsored by Amstel Light.

His debut album, ‘Cardiac Output’ defied traditional folk category. The five-song EP, recorded in Los Angeles, is an arresting mix of rock, soul, and uplifting, always questioning folk. After recording the critically-acclaimed disc, the singer began work on a new record. The result was the singer’s first major industry achievement. ‘Save You,’ written by Eid, was nominated in a major category at the 2010 Hollywood Music In Media Awards.

He has been a fixture at numerous venues in L.A’s burgeoning bar scene including The Mint, Hotel Cafe, Molly Malone's, and many more. Last summer, hosted his own weekly music night at Crane’s Hollywood Tavern and completed a stint emceeing a popular Wednesday night open mic night at the Stone Bar in Hollywood.  He has toured several Northern California cities and recently visited Bend, Oregon where he played at the annual 4th of July Festival at Drake Park.  As a result, his music is being played regularly on CLEAR 101.7 in Bend.  Critics have embraced the singer’s debut album, ‘Cardiac Output’: Flavorpill calls the record “an affecting blend of earnest folk tunes” and C.C. Treadway calls it “powerful and inspiring.”

Born in West Africa, Joseph Eid grew up in the suburbs of New York City. Abandoning a career in medicine for his first love, he joined the singing quartet ‘Zeyn.’  Eid wrote the song, ‘Surrender,’ which was picked by Teen People as a ‘Top 5 Best Original Song. When the band broke up, Joseph continued singing and performing at bars around New York City.  He packed up his bags and moved to Hollywood in 2006.
